Doctor Scooter

Hello, my name is Scooter and I have magical healing abilities.  I overheard (with my super-sonic-radar-detecting hearing) my Mom talking to my Nana.  They were discussing Nana's recent physical at the doctor's office.  Being Nana's favorite grandchild, I began a search on the internet and discovered I am the cure for everything that ails you.  ME!  I am magic.  Why did I possibly think otherwise?

Scooter, surfing the internet.
According to the internet, which is always right, petting a dog releases the bonding hormone oxytocin which lowers blood pressure, wards off depression and boosts immunity.  All this from just rubbing me.

Don't be fooled by my lazy appearance.  I am really hard at work healing the other members of my pack.

Nana's blood pressure is fine, her immune system is healthy and she only gets depressed when she hasn't seen me for a while; but, I still think I can cure everything.  Don't worry Nana.  Even though I don't take your insurance, because you are family, I will work you in, at no extra charge.

Are you already feeling better?

  1. What a sweet puppy. He definitely has magical powers in his fur. It's so sleek and shiny.....We love dogs but, we're too lazy to have one so we make of every dog we see.

    1. He does require some tending which usually falls to my husband to handle. Scooter is always at Bill's side, or jumping in his lap, or under his feet, or looking at his plate....

  2. I love Scooter! And I laughed out loud at this post. "Even though I won't take your insurance, because you are family, I will work you in, at no extra charge." So funny!

    1. What is wrong with giving your family complimentary service? Scooter had better be good to his Nana.

  3. Such a cute dog. We have two dogs, a shepherd and a little mix-up and it is so relaxing just to scratch their heads, ruffle their ears. I can see how it can lower blood pressures, for sure.

    1. See! If this gets out, people will be throwing away their medicine and getting dogs. It would be cheaper.

    1. Thank you, Asim. I never know what will happen when I start typing. I also never know what will come out of my mouth when I start talking.
