Pulling Apart at Pull-A-Part

While Reese was home visiting last week, he had a list of problems needing to be repaired on his truck.  He enjoys watching videos, reading books and learning auto maintenance.  Since new parts cost a fortune, he and Dustin spent the day at Pull-A-Part getting replacement parts for cheap.

"Pull-A-Part is a superior alternative to digging through a junkyard.  Start by searching the state-of-the-art online car inventory database.  Visit a clean, organized nationwide location where removing car parts is easy, saving expensive labor costs and mark-ups.  If you need cash and have a junk car to sell, contact your nearest Pull-A-Part location for a free tow and fash cash."
(From their online ad)

They found vehicles whose parts matched his truck...

...and then the fun began.  With the tools they brought, they went to work salvaging what they needed and other things they didn't.

When they got home late in the day, they told me they were exhausted from working so hard.  I felt sorry, cooked a large, hot meal and let their chores slide.

After seeing the pictures, I once again realized I was bamboozled.  When these two get together, fun and mischief always follow.

    1. It's like spinning tornadoes and when they are gone, the silence is deafening.

  2. What a neat idea. I'm sharing this with my husband. The two in NC are over an hour away, but it's doable if they had what was needed. Thanks for sharing.

    1. You can check online to see what they have because many different cars use the same parts. You won't know what is left on each particular car until you get there. Reese has also used it to practice taking things apart without causing damage to his truck. It is a great place to learn and to have fun, it seems.

    1. I have never been either, wouldn't want to go, would be bored out of my mind, but my guys find it fascinating. However, if they had a quilt show, I would be there in a second.

  4. Oh, gosh, my son-in-law always has something he is working on. He just loves doing it. And has one or two tales that bring me to tears with laughter.

    1. You must use the new words: recycle, re-purpose and the most popular one is "SUSTAINABLE." If you say it will help the environment, it will be celebrated here. It isn't called a junkyard anymore but a "recycle center." It is a junkyard to me.
