And On We Go...

Yesterday marked my second anniversary since beginning my blog.  Has it really only been two years?

As  I look back over the past two years, so much in my life has changed and so has this blog.  Scooter has become a worldwide megastar.  More people want to hear about him than anything else.  His loyal fan base is almost as large as his ego.  He is becoming a bit sassy and reminds me of his stardom often.

Don't forget I am a star.
This past year has been hard due to various difficulties our family has endured. This blog has become my lifeline to the outside world as my health and mobility continue to decline.  It has been a place where I could share happy memories, and ignore unpleasant realities.  It forced me to look for blessings and sunshine even on the darkest days.  As I look ahead, the future seems uncertain but I think, maybe...maybe...the clouds are beginning to part.  More sunshine might be coming our way.

Regardless of what the future holds, I still don't have any great lofty plans for my blog.  I will continue to share the mundane with Mom (Hi Mom) and toss in pictures of Scooter.

Thank you to all of my new friends I have met through comments and messages.  You have encouraged me and are dear to my heart.  As for those all over the world who chose to silently read my nonsense without every commenting, you too are welcome.  If I can brighten one person's day just one time, it has been worth it.

  1. I don’t know if I’ve commented on your blog before but I enjoy reading all your posts. Thank you for being here. I’m 58, live in central CA where the weather is still quite warm. I am a widow with four kids and nine grandkids. I stay home a lot due to limited mobility but I get out to the grandkids sporting events quite often. I’m sure there are many of us reading your witty and often humorous posts and especially enjoying Scooter and his fame.

    1. Welcome Jacki. This is your first time commenting and I am glad to hear from you. I always wonder who are these people clicking on my site? It floors me that anyone would want to read anything I have to write. I would introduce myself but you probably know more about me than I know myself. Please feel free to continue dropping by and thank you for commenting.

  2. Congratulations on your 2-year anniversary! I personally love having found you through blogging land and hope we remain friends for a long, long time. (Please don't tell Scooter that my favorite part of your blog is you, and your wonderful sense of humor, but he is cute, too, and adds a lot to the blog!). I also love looking at all your flowers, garden, and other beautiful scenes in that part of the country. I have gotten a glimpse of the eastern U.S. that I would not have otherwise seen--things like Amish scenes, rocks, streams, power lines.....quite a gamut for sure. Keep it coming, Jeannie!

    1. Thank you Becky for being a good friend. Don't worry about our relationship ever ending. All you have to do is to keep mailing me canning goodies and we will be best friend for life! I am easily bribed.

    1. Thank you so much Carol. I don't know what is interesting to others. I just start writing and don't ever know what I will say. It is the same when I start talking. I never know what will come out of my mouth.

  5. Looking at these two pictures it seems to me as if I could see a bit of soft melancholy in your face. Or is it serenity and relaxation? You do miss your sons and Scooter also feels their absence. A new chapter in life for all of you. But thanks to modern telecommunications you can
always be in touch with each other and therefore take part in each others life in a way. That is
    an inestimable blessing !
All the best to all members of your family!

    1. It was a feeling of melancholy. It was sadness due to the boys all being gone and also because I was thinking about the past year. So much has gone wrong. I tried to smile for the camera but couldn't. I am glad I don't have to live this year over again. The future has got to be better.
