Today's Blooms, May 15, 2020

Having a garden while being locked down due to the Chinese Coronavirus has been a blessing.  Living in an apartment would have driven me crazy.

Since my job has been canceled for now and because there is nowhere fun to go, I have spent this month in the flower bed and the vegetable garden.

Scooter, who has been my constant companion, stays on high alert to chase away any bird that might fly over his territory.

This is where Bill and I spend our evenings.  We have adapted to being locked down and may never leave.  This is the new normal.

  1. Those peonies are so pretty...love that color. And I love all your flowers in general.

  2. Our oldest daughter and family live in an apartment in a big city on Germany. It has been really tough not having an outdoor space. I found Metrolina Greenhouse flowers for my deck and they are wonderful. I find them to be worth seeking out and prefer to leave those subpar Bonnie plants at the store.

    1. You can thank Reese for that! I think he is the best employee they have ever hired and are blessed to have his presence. He knows everything and should be running the place, in my slanted, prejudice Mother's opinion. He will get a chuckle when he reads my comment.

    2. I am prejudiced too and think everyone should drive a Honda because our oldest is an engineer for them!

    3. I once owned a Honda CRX and it was the best car I have ever driven. Bought it new when I was young, drove it until the wheels fell off and then gave it to my brother. He was able to do the expensive repairs and then he drove it forever. When it wouldn't go much further, he sold it to a mechanic who rebuilt it into a professional race car. That was the last we heard of it. It was like the Engergizer bunny...it kept going and going and going.

  3. I'm with you. I've thought about those who live in apartments, or even worse, high rise buildings. So thankful to live in the country; always, but especially now. Beautiful peonies. That looks like a fine sitting spot.

    1. I have a feeling when this is all over the city folk will be moving to the country. At least that is what I would (have) done.

The sitting spot is perfect except that we need cushions which would require shopping...which I'm avoiding doing.

  5. You'll have the most beautiful garden and flower beds this year....you already do! I don't know how people have stayed inside their houses so much....that would drive me crazy. I'm glad I've been able to take walks and work in my flowers. I need some sunshine and fresh air! Hugs!
